Twelve Angry Men, Onstage!

Runs September 429, 2019
Indiana Repertory Theatre (140 W. Washington St., Indianapolis)
By Reginald Rose

A young man’s life hangs in the balance as a trial jury meets behind closed doors to debate his guilt or innocence. Did he kill his father? Or is there reasonable doubt? What is justice, and how do we achieve it? You will be on the edge of your seat as a dozen men with different viewpoints try to agree on one verdict. This classic American drama from the 1950s could have been written yesterday with its provocative look at power, prejudice, and clashing perspectives.

Approximate Run Time: 1 hour and 40 minutes, with no intermission

Twelve Angry Men is a classic American drama that contains profanity and mild violence. Recommended for patrons 9th grade and above.

“The season opens with the classic American 1950s courtroom drama Twelve Angry Men. We select a play of this nature to unite the adult and student populations with a play that holds power for its strong dramatic tension, as well as its heated debates on the efficacy of the American justice system. It will pack a content and a style punch, and we’re excited to open our season with this quintessentially American high-stakes debate play that feels ripped out of today’s headlines.”

Janet Allen, Executive Artistic Director

Tickets begin at $25. For more information or to buy tickets, visit the Indiana Repertory Theatre online!

The Screwtape Letters, Onstage!

4PM | Saturday, November 2, 2019
Clowe’s Memorial Hall, Butler University (4602 Sunset Ave., Indianapolis)

“I have no intention of explaining how the correspondence, which I now offer to the public, fell into my hands.

“There are two equal and opposite errors into which our race can fall about the devils. One is to disbelieve in their existence. The other is to believe, and to feel an excessive and unhealthy interest in them. They themselves are equally pleased by both errors and hail a materialist or a magician with the same delight.

“Readers are advised to remember that the devil is a liar. Not everything that Screwtape says should be assumed to be true, even from his own angle.

“There is wishful thinking in Hell as well as on Earth.”

C.S. Lewis, July 5, 1941

This acclaimed and faithful stage adaptation of C.S. Lewis’ satiric masterpiece follows Screwtape, a senior tempter in Hell, as he schemes to capture the soul of an unsuspecting human on earth and reveals spiritual warfare in vivid, humorous, and powerful ways.

Run Time: 90 minutes; no intermission.
Age Recommendation: 13 and older. Children under age 4 not admitted.

This play is produced by the Fellowship for Performing Arts, a Biblical Christian organization founded by Max McLean. Tickets will be onsale soon! For more information, visit the Fellowship for Performing Arts online.

America’s Best Hope 2016

On November 11th, Christian leaders from business and nonprofit worlds will gather in Carmel to share wisdom and encouragement at America’s Best Hope 2016.

Phil Vischer, the creator of VeggieTales, will headline this year’s event. “I think everybody who builds things or leads things has dreams of how it should turn out,” Phil shared in an interview with America’s Best Hope. “The reality is that very seldom does it turn out the way we dream about it and we imagine it. Christian values are often more longterm. Y’know, just being kind, showing the fruit of the Spirit, doesn’t necessarily move the needle in the next quarter, but it might move the needle in the next decade.

“For business leaders, it’s really a question of, ‘Why do I do this? Why do I get up in the morning? Why do I come into work? What’s my ultimate goal? Am I focusing on outcomes, or am I focusing on my relationship with God and what He’s called me to do on a daily basis?'”

Here’s highlights from last year’s conference:

You can attend the LIVE event in Carmel or tune in at one of the satellite locations across the country. The LIVE event will be held from 8AM–4PM at Northview Church (12900 Hazel Dell Parkway, Carmel). Doors open at 7AM. This event is very likely to sell out, so reserve your ticket today!

If you’d be interested in meeting up with the Afikomag community during or after this event, email info@afikomag.com or call/text Hannah at (765) 438-1228.

Join the Cruz Crew in Indy

The Cruz Crew Strike Force is mobilizing. Be part of it. Senator Cruz and the campaign still need your help. You can still make a difference and share in the excitement of volunteering with other members of the Cruz Crew and enjoy the fellowship that so inspired over 2,000 of your fellow patriots.

The Strike Force will be coming to Indiana between April 22 and May 4. If you are able to cover your own travel, please join us in Indiana. We are looking for volunteers who can come for at least three days. We need as many volunteers to deploy into Indiana to embody the grassroots spirit that made this country great.

In Indianapolis, Camp Cruz will be located at a local Christian Camp–a true “Camp” Cruz. Lodging will be in large dorm rooms with bunk beds. Volunteers will need to bring their own towels, pillow, and sheets and blankets for a twin size bed (or sleeping bag). There will be a dorm for both men and the women.

To sign up, visit www.tedcruz.org/l/strike-force-indiana.

David Limbaugh in Indy

One of the most neglected battlefields today is the battlefield of the mind. Many in America today are physically free, but intellectually and spiritually enslaved. It is to these POWs and those trying to free them that David Limbaugh is reaching out.

Mr. Limbaugh’s faith is not stifled by his legal training; it’s enhanced by it. He drew upon his legal expertise to write the New York Times bestselling book Jesus on Trial: A Lawyer Affirms the Truth of the Gospels and has gone on to pen Persecution: How Liberals are Waging War Against Christianity and his latest, The Emmaus Code: Finding Jesus in the Old Testament.

Join David Limbaugh in person at the annual Celebration of Life Banquet. This banquet is hosted by Life Centers and will include dinner, ministry updates, client testimonies, as well as the keynote speaker David Limbaugh. Pete Heck will once again be the emcee and Tom Shevlot, Executive Director of Life Centers, will give his annual update on the ministry and share some exciting news about the future of Life Centers.

Mr. Limbaugh is a nationally syndicated columnist with Creators Syndicate, NewsMax, and several other publications. He is a frequent contributor to Fox News and is involved in entertainment, business and contract law. In addition to this, he is a public speaker, addressing various topics including America’s Christian heritage and pro-life issues. He has written many New York Times best-selling books

David lives in Cape Girardeau, Missouri with his wife Lisa and their five children. He has a flourishing law practice and serves as the chairman of the church council at his church. He is also the younger brother of Rush Limbaugh.
