Special Temptations You Might Face

  1. To react in anger or rage (James 1:20)
  2. To be promiscuous, enticing, or inviting in:
    1. Your clothing or the way you wear it
    2. Your walk
    3. Your thoughts
    4. Your actions
    5. In what you say to men with your eyes
  3. To give to someone or something what belongs to God alone—your worship or your soul, for example. This is spiritual adultery.
  4. To expect from a person or thing something that only God can give you or do for you—deliverance or security, for example. This is spiritual idolatry.
  5. To deny your femininity by:
    1. Taking on manly, masculine, or unfeminine behavior, dress, hairstyle, or habits
    2. Choosing another role for yourself other than what God mentions in Titus 2:3-5 (if you are married)
    3. Changing natural affections for men into wrong affections for women or into lesbian actions (Romans 1:24-26)
  6. To believe lies about God and/or Jesus
  7. To believe lies about yourself
  8. To make God into a palatable image
  9. To withhold forgiveness
  10. To minimize the offense against you or the effects of the offense in your life, thereby minimizing God’s rescue efforts on your behalf
  11. To believe that there have been no good things in your life
  12. To despise or be cynical about men—their masculinity, drive, strength, or abilities
  13. To close yourself off from your husband or not make yourself available to him
  14. To give to other people or organizations more than God is asking you to give
  15. To have sex before marriage or to have sex with someone other than your husband after marriage
  16. To want any man that is not your husband; to want a relationship with a man who is not your husband
  17. To treat your body badly (or punish it) by too much food, not enough food, too much exercise, etc.

Please remember this precious verse: “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way of escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” (1 Corinthians 10:13)
