Voiceless Film Hits Indiana Theaters

What would you do if the business across the street from your church was an abortion clinic?

That’s the question Jesse Dean faces in the brand-new film Voiceless.

“I wanted to create a film to challenge the church to get involved in the public square,” says Pat Necerato, the film’s screenwriter and director. He told LifeNews, “I cannot tell you how many times I’ve heard Christians, even pastors, say: We need to be saving souls, not so much worried about confronting evil. Those words never really jived well with my theology that Christ is King, He can redeem any aspect of our world, and He has called Christians to be saved and be a part of it. That’s the big picture.”

Pat and his team are taking their message to the street: it’s the first film to be screened on the sidewalk outside the Supreme Court.

Openings have been rippling across the nation ever since. Here’s where you can catch the film in Indiana:

Pursued by a Holy God | Dinner & Discussion

“Sanctification is not getting rid of our temptations, but pursuing holiness in the midst of them.” — Christopher Yuan

Sunday, October 23, 2016 | 5PM | 5236 E. 72nd St., Indianapolis

What would it look like if God’s people held out clear answers to the questions that stymie our society today—questions like, “What if my son is biologically male but psychologically female?” “What if God made me this way?” and “Shouldn’t I be able to love anyone I want?”

Enter Christopher Yuan. If meaning and purpose were the apex of the homosexual lifestyle, he would have found it. For years he gave himself over to the pursuit of the perfect man to complete his dream of homosexual fulfillment. Instead, he found only one man who loved him completely and who could reach into his AIDS-ravaged life and reclaim the years the locusts had eaten. His name? Jesus.

Join us as we hear Christopher’s video testimony and discuss how the mercy of Christ reaches into our world today, especially in the realm of identity, redeemed sexuality, Godly singleness, and purpose.

We’ll be meeting at the home of Cindy, who, along with Tyler and Hannah, coleads Afikomag, our local Summit community.

Come hungry! We’ll have dinner before things get rolling! Questions? Call or text Hannah at (765) 438-1228 or email info@afikomag.com!

Phil Vischer Headlining Christian Leadership Conference

On November 11th, Christian leaders from business and nonprofit worlds will gather in Carmel to share wisdom and encouragement at America’s Best Hope 2016.

Phil Vischer, the creator of VeggieTales, will headline this year’s event. “I think everybody who builds things or leads things has dreams of how it should turn out,” Phil shared in an interview with America’s Best Hope. “The reality is that very seldom does it turn out the way we dream about it and we imagine it. Christian values are often more longterm. Y’know, just being kind, showing the fruit of the Spirit, doesn’t necessarily move the needle in the next quarter, but it might move the needle in the next decade.

“For business leaders, it’s really a question of, ‘Why do I do this? Why do I get up in the morning? Why do I come into work? What’s my ultimate goal? Am I focusing on outcomes, or am I focusing on my relationship with God and what He’s called me to do on a daily basis?'”

Here’s highlights from last year’s conference:

You can attend the LIVE event in Carmel or tune in at one of the satellite locations across the country. The LIVE event will be held from 8AM–4PM at Northview Church (12900 Hazel Dell Parkway, Carmel). Doors open at 7AM. This event is very likely to sell out, so reserve your ticket today!

If you’d be interested in meeting up with the Afikomag community during or after this event, email info@afikomag.com or call/text Hannah at (765) 438-1228.

Abby Johnson in Indiana

Abby Johnson, an ardent prolife advocate who God delivered from the abortion industry, will be speaking on Wednesday, August 24th at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church (17201 Springmill Rd. Westfield, IN).

Abby will share about her experiences as the director of a Planned Parenthood abortion center, the events that changed her life, and her conversion to a prolife activist. All are welcome to come at 6PM for an hors d’oeuvre reception in the parish hall. The program will begin at 7PM in the church.

There is no charge for admission, but your donation will benefit Great Lakes Gabriel ProjectFor more information on Abby, visit abbyjohnson.org. For event details, visit the church website or call Dave Bangs at (765) 860-6006.

From Abby’s website:

Abby Johnson has always had a fierce determination to help women in need. It was this desire that both led Abby to a career with Planned Parenthood, our nation’s largest abortion provider, and caused her to flee the organization and become an outspoken advocate for the pro-life movement. During her eight years with Planned Parenthood, Abby quickly rose in the organization’s ranks and became a clinic director. She was increasingly disturbed by what she witnessed. Abortion was a product Planned Parenthood was selling, not an unfortunate necessity that they fought to decrease. Still, Abby loved the women that entered her clinic and her fellow workers. Despite a growing unrest within her, she stayed on and strove to serve women in crisis.

All of that changed on September 26, 2009 when Abby was asked to assist with an ultrasound-guided abortion.

She watched in horror as a 13 week baby fought, and ultimately lost, its life at the hand of the abortionist.

At that moment, the full realization of what abortion was and what she had dedicated her life to washed over Abby and a dramatic transformation took place. Desperate and confused, Abby sought help from a local pro-life group. She swore that she would begin to advocate for life in the womb and expose abortion for what it truly is.

Planned Parenthood did not take Abby’s exodus sitting down. They are fully aware that the workers who leave are their greatest threat. Instantly, they took action to silence Abby with a gag order and took her to court. The lawsuit was quickly seen as the sham it was and thrown out of court.

The media was, and continues to be, intensely interested in Abby’s story as well as her continued efforts to advocate for the unborn and help clinic workers escape the abortion industry. She is a frequently requested guest on Fox News and a variety of other shows and the author of the nationally best-selling book, Unplanned, which chronicles both her experiences within Planned Parenthood and her dramatic exit.

Today, Abby travels across the globe sharing her story, educating the public on pro-life issues, advocating for the unborn, and reaching out to abortion clinic staff who still work in the industry. She is the founder of And Then There Were None, a ministry designed to assist abortion clinic workers out of the industry. To date, this ministry has helped over 150 workers leave the abortion industry. Abby lives in Texas with her husband and five precious children.

Feet to Dance: Doris’s Story

“You turned my wailing into dancing; You removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing to You and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give you thanks forever.” (Psalm 30:11-12)

When you talk to Doris, you can’t help but see the joy beaming out of her. She’s a petite, demure lady with an irrepressible sense of humor.

From her calm, gentle ways, you might think that she’s always lived a comfortable life free from cares and heartache.

That impression could not be farther from the truth. Childhood abuse had broken her spirit and the pressures of life and drug addiction had so beaten her down that the only “solution” she could think of was death itself.

On the day she’d chosen to take her life, a surprising thing happened. She went to a place she’d never been before and a friend she’d never met before gave her a hug and told her, “I love you and God loves you too.”

That friend had no idea how powerful those words were in that moment, but they literally saved Doris’s life.

In the months and years that followed, the Lord bound up Doris’s emotional and physical wounds and poured His loving balm of Gilead into them.

Today Doris is a mighty woman of God with a heart for the lost and hurting. She uses her wit, humor, and dynamic musical and artistic abilities to share the love of the God who saved her.

She will be sharing her testimony of God’s love and redemption at 11:30 Friday, May 13th at Criterion Water Labs, LLC (329 E. Firmin St., Kokomo). Join us for lunch, encouragement, and fellowship!

You’re welcome to join us for future Firstfruits gatherings as well! If you would like to receive updates about these events, email us at info@afikomag.com.

Join the Cruz Crew in Indy

The Cruz Crew Strike Force is mobilizing. Be part of it. Senator Cruz and the campaign still need your help. You can still make a difference and share in the excitement of volunteering with other members of the Cruz Crew and enjoy the fellowship that so inspired over 2,000 of your fellow patriots.

The Strike Force will be coming to Indiana between April 22 and May 4. If you are able to cover your own travel, please join us in Indiana. We are looking for volunteers who can come for at least three days. We need as many volunteers to deploy into Indiana to embody the grassroots spirit that made this country great.

In Indianapolis, Camp Cruz will be located at a local Christian Camp–a true “Camp” Cruz. Lodging will be in large dorm rooms with bunk beds. Volunteers will need to bring their own towels, pillow, and sheets and blankets for a twin size bed (or sleeping bag). There will be a dorm for both men and the women.

To sign up, visit www.tedcruz.org/l/strike-force-indiana.
